For about 2 years I have no longer used classic cleaning products to remove my make-up. I only occasionally use micellar water to take off my eye make-up.
To remove Foundation, Bronzer & Co., I switched completely to oil cleaners and Cleansing Balms. In today’s post, I would like to introduce you to the cleansing oil of a Japanese brand. It has been an integral part of my make-up removal routine for the past few months and is so good that I no longer want to keep it from you.
I will also show you in a short video how easy it is to remove the oil make-up. Enjoy your contribution! 🙂

HADA LABO GOKUJUN CLEANSING OIL – FACTS
The Cleansing Oil of the Japanese brand HADA LABO is in a colorful plastic packaging, typical for this country. The round bottle has a pump dispenser. With its help, the oil can be dosed well. Visually, the product is admittedly not a hit, but it ultimately depends on the content. In contrast to the less tasteful packaging, it can definitely be seen! 😀

HADA LABO Cleansing Oil consists of olive oil . This is enriched with two types of hyaluronic acid (= moisturizing properties) . According to the manufacturer, the oil was specially developed for sensitive skin .
The pump bottle contains 200ml. I have now used the Cleansing Oil after using it once a day for a little over 3 months. For the price of about 10-12 € via Amazon ‘ that’s absolutely fine for me.
THE HADA LABO BRAND
To be honest, I didn’t find too much on the Internet about the Japanese brand itself. However, it seems to be a traditional company. It is one of the pioneers in the development of facial care in Japan.
In addition, HADA LABO does not use silicones, dyes, or fragrances. In addition, according to their own statements, no questionable active ingredients are used.
THAT’S HOW I USE JAPANESE CLEANSING OIL
As I mentioned at the beginning, I always use the oil in the evening to remove make-up from my face. I need 2-3 pumps to take off my complete make-up. The Cleansing Oil has a very light, almost watery texture and feels pleasant in both hands and face.
Before I apply the HADA LABO oil to my dry facial skin (very important, otherwise it won’t work!), I rub it briefly in my hands to warm it up.
Then I apply it on my entire face in a circular motion. I rub the cleansing oil into my skin with my fingertips. You notice very quickly how the make-up separates from the skin and only lies on it. I take this mass of make-up, bronzer & Co. off my skin with a damp microfiber cloth. I prefer to use this ‘ or this’ cloth. Alternatively, the make-up oil mixture can also be rinsed off with lukewarm water. However, I believe that cleaning is more thorough when using microfiber cloth.
PROS AND CONS OF OIL CLEANING WITH THE HADA LABO PRODUCT
My only criticism:
Removing the eye make-up works well (I massage the oil with my eyes closed; also the eyelashes), but after removing it with the microfiber cloth I always have an oil film on my eyes. It doesn’t burn, which of course is positive, but I don’t like the feeling at all. The veil stays with me for well over half an hour … That’s why I still prefer to remove mascara & Co. from my eyes with mild micellar water.
However, the positive properties of HADA LABO Cleansing Oil outweigh! This includes that the product cleans my skin thoroughly. Also, my skin doesn’t tighten after removing my make-up. The Cleansing Oil does not leave a greasy oil film on the skin. It simply feels well cleaned and tender after use. The Japanese cleansing oil also does not cause any skin irritation. I didn’t get any redness or pimples from the product.
The biggest positive effect is that my skin has become significantly cleaner since I have used HADA LABO Cleansing Oil. Sure, I’m still a long way from a perfect complexion without any pimples, but my diva skin produces much fewer pimples. This can only be due to the evening facial cleansing with oil! The product has also declared war on my numerous small underlays on the forehead. The number of these tiny “pimples” has decreased significantly. I’m so happy! 🙂
If you “suffer” from an oily-combination skin that tends to have pimples, then I recommend you to try out the cleaning oil from HADA LABO. It’s worth a try at this price, isn’t it ?! 😉
VIDEO DEMO OF THE HADA LABO CLEANSING OIL
In this crisp short video, you can see once again how well this oil cleanser removes makeup. He only has to fight with mascara and kohl. With circular movements, you can get the product away from your eyes. Japanese cleansing oil only reaches its limits when it comes to waterproof products. You should go for something else.
In 2018 I already wrote a review on a cleansing balm. If you are also interested in this type of cleaning, you will find the corresponding article here. 🙂
