COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

As a big fan of the K-Beauty brand COSRX, I also tested the popular Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 + PA +++.

You will now find out why I think this sun protection is good, but will not buy it for the time being.

This awaits you in this post

COSRX sunscreen facts

Thanks to SPF50 + and PA +++, the COSRX sun protection offers high protection. SPF stands for UVB protection (against sunburn).

What does PA +++ stand for? In Asia it is standard that the PA (corresponds to protection against UVA radiation) is stated on the products. Roughly speaking: the higher the number of “+” on the product, the stronger the UVA protection of the sunscreen.

The COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream contains both chemical and mineral filters. The topic of filters in sunscreens is incredibly complex. In the near future I will dedicate my own contribution to this topic. At the moment I am still collecting all the information, but I promise you that the blog post will go online in the next few weeks! 🙂

K-Beauty sunscreen by COSRX

This sun protection from COSRX is especially recommended for oily and dehydrated skin.

You can order the COSRX cream from lookfantastic or littlewonderland , for example .

“Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Isoamyl P-Methoxycinnamate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Alcohol Glyceryl styrene14, 22 Alcohols, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Aloe Arborescens Leaf Extract , Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Peg-100 Stearate, Silica, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Dimethicone / Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Acrylic / Glycol C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Triethanolamine Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance , Phenoxyethanol, Disodium Edta “

As the name of the sunscreen suggests, it contains aloe among other things. This ingredient has a nourishing effect. The vitamin it contains has an antioxidant effect. You will find alcohol in the 11th position on the INCI list. Since the alcohol is at the bottom of the list, it can be assumed that the concentration is very low. In the third last place there is perfume. I don’t notice a special scent. Fortunately, there are no declarable fragrances in the sunscreen from COSRX.

Various UVB, broadband and UVA filters were used in the sunscreen. This also explains the high level of protection (SPF50 + and PA +++).

UV filter in the COSRX Aloe Soothing sunscreen

The sun protection contains some nourishing ingredients, but the skin care product is not particularly fancy. Protection from UVA and UVB radiation should of course be in the foreground. This is guaranteed!

Due to the alcohol it contains (even if the concentration will be low), I would not recommend the sunscreen for very sensitive skin . All other skin types should get along well with Korean sun protection.

Texture of the Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

The texture is very soft and creamy. Accordingly, the product can be spread well on the skin. The COSRX sunscreen whitens minimally. You hardly notice this effect if you work the sun protection well into the skin.

On a positive note, the cream is absorbed quickly . It leaves a fresh and neat feeling on the skin. The sun protection is suitable as a make-up pad. My foundations can be applied perfectly over the sun protection (no stained spots or the like can be seen).

COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream review

Korean sunscreen is not on the skin or feels heavy. This sunscreen is particularly suitable for my very oily skin, especially in the T-Zone. It is not too rich. Accordingly, I don’t shine more than usual during the day. 🙂

So much praise. Now you’re probably wondering why I’m not going to buy them for the time being. 😀 Since I have so far only had experience with chemical or “mixed” sun protection (both chemical and mineral filters), I would like to test purely mineral sun creams for myself soon .

Both types have their advantages and disadvantages (more on that in a separate article soon). I’m just curious if mineral sun protection can inspire me as well and meet my requirements. And if I can protect the environment a little more, why not ?!

The product of my choice (of course from the K-Beauty area) is already on the way to me. As soon as I could get an impression of mineral sun protection, you will of course find out here on my blog.

Until then, I can recommend another K-Beauty sunscreen. Missha sun protection ( available from Amazon, among others ) contains only chemical filters and also offers high UVA and UVB protection.
